There’s No Record Label In Ghana – Kofi Kinaata


Award winning rapper Martin King Arthur popularly identified as Kofi Kinaata in a recent interview says there is no record label in our industry at the moment.

The rapper on Bryttv Xtra with MC Nana Yeboah on Thursday 28th day of January made this statement about record labels in the country.

According to him, the ones we regard here in Ghana as record labels are rather management teams and not record label as he know.

The Effiekuma Superstar also made a clear definition of a record label on the show stating Sony music as a clear example.

He currently has a new song out with Award winning Nigerian Patois singer Patoranking dubbed ‘Something Nice’.

This particular song is a club jam which has started its numbers on the various digital platforms including YouTube.


Kofi Kinaata is known to be a singer, rapper and a songwriter from the Western Region.


‘Sukuka’ being his breakthrough into the music scene was released years ago under his former label High Grade Family with Samini being the CEO.


After a successful deal with High Grade Family, he went solo with his own team ‘Team Move’ which he currently work under.

His style of music has influenced people globally both the young and the aged.


He has won Songwriter of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) about four consecutive times.


The rapper is always in the headlines with positive tags all around the industry.

Currently he is the brand ambassador for International Organization for Migration in Ghana and other well-known brands across the globe.

People sometimes jab him about his lyrical language but he came out saying that’s the main thing about his uniqueness and success in the music industry.

He has worked with Artistes including Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Donzy Chaka and many other musicians both here in Ghana and outside as well.


‘Made In Taadi’, an annual music festival organized by the award winning rapper receives thousands of individual each year for his concert.


He has been running the festival for about three years now and the results is always massive.
